Once, Kevin Durant disclosed that he wanted Russell Westbrook and Devin Booker to form a big three with OKC

Devin Booker caught Kevin Durant’s attention when he was first entering the draft. According to reports, Durant desired that Devin Booker be selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2015 NBA Draft.

This would have put Booker in the same division as Russell Westbrook and Durant. Also, the partnership would create Oklahoma City Thunder, a possibly youthful “Big 3”. Unfortunately, Booker was selected by the Phoenix Suns at number 13, and the Thunder selected Cameron Payne with the fourteenth overall choice.

Strangely, years later and on a different team, Durant and Booker ended up becoming colleagues. Kevin Durant was moved to the Phoenix Suns at the beginning of 2023, where he was reunited with Devin Booker.

The first season of Durant and Booker’s partnership wasn’t a championship run. It seems that early on, Kevin Durant sustained an ankle injury that restricted his playing time. In the playoffs, the Suns were again unsuccessful.

Even before they shared the court, Devin Booker was a fan of Durant. despite more, he acknowledged that he had proclaimed Durant his favorite player in a now-resurfaced tweet from 2011 (despite though LeBron was regarded as the best at the time).

With this victory, the Suns have trimmed the Denver Nuggets’ series lead to 2-1. The team’s next task is to tie the series by stealing a victory in Game 4 in Denver.
