In some ways, Kevin Durant’s career has stagnated since he left the Golden State Warriors. Is the two-time NBA champion considering a potential move to the Miami Heat?
Along with winning the NBA Finals MVP award both times, Durant earned both of his rings while playing for the Warriors. Many people at the time regarded him as the world’s top basketball player.
When he decided to depart the Warriors in the summer of 2019, Durant took a risky move that hasn’t paid off yet.
Durant has played for the Brooklyn Nets and the Phoenix Suns since that exit, but he hasn’t even advanced to the Conference Finals with either club.
The Suns were swept by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the opening round of the playoffs this season.
Without Stephen Curry in the playoffs, Durant’s career record is 68-60. It’s not a very enjoyable read.
Furthermore, there is once more conjecture regarding Durant’s future. Rumor has it that he’s not pleased in Phoenix.
No one can dispute Durant’s status as one of the greatest players in the game and a legitimate superstar, even with his dubious playoff record. Most teams would be thrilled to sign him.
Durant’s old colleague from their days together with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Kendrick Perkins, thinks Miami would be the ideal place for number 35 to go.
“We know that the Miami Heat made it to two NBA Finals,” Perkins stated on First Take. They couldn’t overcome the hurdle with Jimmy Butler leading them. Someone like Kevin Durant gets put in there. Additionally, the Miami Heat received several essential pieces.”
Following their own first-round playoff defeat at the hands of the Boston Celtics, the Miami Heat are anticipated to try to bolster themselves during the summer.
There are many basketball enthusiasts who would be thrilled to see Durant play in Miami. However, how realistic it is is still up for debate.
