The Los Angeles Lakers’ elimination from the first round of the playoffs has still not been forgotten by the NBA community.
Finally, in this year’s campaign for the championship, forwards Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors and Kevin Durant of the Suns are also eliminated.
Neither Bron, Curry, or Durant are participating in the Conference Semi-Finals for the first time in twenty years. It does seem like the end of an era. However, NBA Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett came up with a scheme for Lakers star to rally the team’s experienced players.
“If I’m LeBron…and I got KD on one line, CP on one line, Steph on one line…,” Garnett remarked in reference to LeBron’s future with former colleague Paul Pierce on the program Ticket and the Truth. For the first time, all of the celebrities may play together and go off on a high note.
The host continues, saying, “Bron received the question mark. KD received the asterisk. Probably the only person without a question mark is Steph. I’m simply referring to all of this aging talent that is prepared to leave the league.
The co-hosts believe that LeBron would be better off on a younger team with less responsibility. He is currently leading a team mostly, which isn’t a good fit for him at his age. Probably because he is exhausted and lacking in energy, that explains the question marks.
Though at what cost does he earn another shot at a ring? What genuine purpose is there in managing such a club if Russell and other players would let him down like they have this season? This may be the reason for the possibility of individuals criticizing the idea that all of the legends ought to be on a single squad. But is that really feasible?
Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and LeBron James together on a team?
In a last-ditch effort to keep James in Los Angeles, the Lakers are reportedly prepared to offer him a three-year, $164 million contract.
They are even prepared to draft James’ kid, Bronny. This summer, King James will also have a player option. However, there’s a chance he could choose to forego it in order to pursue a new deal and win that “championship.” According to Rich Paul, James’ agent, he still has two or three NBA seasons left.
Thus, rather than depending on the letdown that the Lakers were earlier in the season, he may very easily form a partnership with Durant and Curry if he decides to switch teams and abandon the LA squad. He was going to get rid of Taurean Prince and D’Angelo Russell, as well as his own troubles to lead the squad.
In addition, James is no longer as set on playing with his kid Bronny, but is now more willing to explore. According to multiple accounts, he no longer considers it a priority.
Kevin Durant may be eligible for a $105 million, two-year contract extension. In addition, Steph Curry will remain a member of the Warriors until the 2025–2026 season, when his contract expires.
Given that they are already considering Durant for the following season, it would make more sense for them to all gather in the Golden State. However, there’s still a catch. They are champions, MVPs, and energetic aging athletes, yet they are still aging.
Having so many seasoned players on one team might not be a sustainable solution. To assist them once more fulfill their aspirations, young players will be necessary. Additionally, Steph receives a base income of almost $55 million. The mere fact that James, Durant, and Curry are on the team will cost the clubs money if their base salaries are combined.
Kevin Garnett’s comment therefore continues to appear like a pipe dream. Though there is still hope for LeBron’s future with the Lakers, there are still doubts in the minds of NBA fans.
