Ayesha and Stephen Curry have decorated their living room in 2023’s most on-trend (but publicly shunned) color

The most talked-about couple in the Bay Area of California, Stephen and Ayesha Curry, are a great example for all of us to follow. If anyone can get us to reevaluate norms, it’s Golden State Warriors player Stephen Curry and his actress wife Ayesha. They are legendary both on the basketball court and in film. And they’ve just used beige to achieve just that.

It’s true that sometimes we make snap decisions when it comes to beige—a seemingly safe color that doesn’t often get as much attention as its more vivid competitors. But the way we use beige in our design is evolving.

Designers (this tone is expected to replace gray in 2023) and celebrities are now taking notice of this adaptable hue. Naturally, Stephen and Ayesha are leading the way in this trend, taking this traditionally cozy color and turning it into something glitzy.
Ayesha, who is most known for her shows About Last Night and Ayesha’s Home Kitchen, gave fans a peek into their opulent, beige-colored home in a post. The room features a painted ceiling that makes it a vibrant celebration of the hue in question.

Since gray is one of the greatest accent colors for beige, it should come as no surprise that a huge gray sofa and rug (similar to the one we’ve seen below) are part of the scheme. Helen Shaw, a color expert and director of marketing at Benjamin Moore, has noted this color pairing.
Crafted from long-lasting synthetic fibers, this rug is meant to look great for a longer time. Its gray hue contrasts wonderfully with beige paint (like Ayesha and Stephen’s), but it is adaptable enough to fit into practically any type of interior design.

Helen suggests putting comparable neutral color families together, as demonstrated by Ayesha and Stephen’s choice of gray and beige. Helen advises incorporating reds and oranges into the mixture, though, if we want to draw attention to the hue even more.

“Neutrals are great for enhancing minimalist and contemporary looks as well as for calming down busy and bold schemes.” Look to combine hue families when pairing neutrals; for example, blend beige tones with oranges and reds, the expert advises.
These colors, which span from chilly grays to warm beiges and brick pinks, are a must-have family for any home makeover. We have noticed a shift in recent seasons toward warmer hues since they are reassuring and encouraging.

Any shade of beige is useful, of course, but we especially adore this calming shade from Backdrop, below.
We’ve matched Ryokan Guesthouse Neutral Beige by Backdrop to the crucial neutral paint hue. What more could we want for when the Bay’s favorite pair has approved this serene, mid-tone classic tan beige?
