Still, hey! Sneakers!

Kevin Durant unveiled his most recent collection of Nike sneakers on the same day as Devin Booker revealed the newest pair of His Book 1’s.

Yesterday saw the release of a new colorway of the KD 17 sneakers, despite the fact that he wore all black. The “Penny” colorway, named for former Phoenix Suns player Anfernee Hardaway, was unveiled. During his time with the Orlando Magic, Nike released the classic Air Max Penny 1, a shoe that became a symbol of the brand in the mid-1990s.

According to Sneaker News:

“This initial glimpse at the KD 17 shows a redesigned style that was influenced by several iconic sneakers from the 1990s. The outside cage of the Air Max Plus, which was influenced by lava lamps, immediately gives it some noticeable effect.

Though it lacks the distinctive lines etched into the foam, the midsole design is very similar to the Air Talaria running shoe.

KD has released new shoes at the start of the postseason on previous occasions. He has done so throughout his first two seasons with the Suns. The Suns’ opening-round matchup with the Los Angeles Clippers on April 18, 2023, in the previous season was identical.

Like previous seasons, Durant debuted his newest shoes on Saturday in all black, giving no hint as to which unusual hues he would undoubtedly wear this season. The option to customize the sneaker is one aspect of the KD shoe line that has been warmly accepted (we are just waiting for the Book 1 shoreline to allow). In addition to buying what you’ve seen on the court, you can create your own custom versions.

The sneaker will retail for about $150 and should be ready for purchase on or around May 24.
