Team USA will be led by LeBron James, Joel Embiid, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant at the Olympics in Paris this summer.

Team USA is finalizing 11 players out of a 12-man roster for the games, according to a Monday report from The Athletic. The players who are firmly in place have combined for 11 NBA titles with four previous MVPs, according to people close to the Athletic.

The following guards have committed to serving abroad: Tyrese Haliburton, Anthony Edwards, Jrue Holiday, Devin Booker, and Jayson Tatum.

The Lakers’ Anthony Davis and big man Bam Adebayo will support James in the front court as he runs for the stars and stripes.

Fans are curious about who will finish in the final slot despite the team’s abundance of star power; MVP candidate and top point guard for the Knicks, Jalen Brunson, is often brought up in this regard.

When Brunson joined the Orange and Blue last season, he had an instant impact. But this year, with a fresh group of teammates, Brunson took his game to new levels and helped New York have one of their best seasons in a long time.

With an average of 28.7 points and 6.7 assists per game, the former Villanova standout ranks fourth and thirteenth in those categories, respectively.

The Knicks easily won their last five games to finish with a 50-32 record and the second seed in the Eastern Conference with Brunson leading the way.

The player pool that was made public in January also had prominent names like Jimmy Butler, Donovan Mitchell, Paul George, Damian Lillard, James Harden, and Kawhi Leonard. Among the wide range of players was Josh Hart, Brunson’s Knicks colleague.

Despite winning gold in the last four Olympics, Team USA was given a wake-up call when the top players in the NBA chose not to play in the FIBA World Cup. As a result, the team lost to Canada in the third-place game and Germany in the semifinals.

The only players who will compete for their countries in the Olympics and World Cup are Edwards and Haliburton; Brunson aspires to be among them.
