Suns Struggle in Win vs Depleted Clippers

The Suns battled through most of their 124-108 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers, who were missing Kawhi Leonard, James Harden, Paul George, Russell Westbrook, and Ivica Zubac. This victory kept the Clippers from sweeping the season.

With a new career high of 37 points, Los Angeles guard Bones Hyland equaled Devin Booker for the most points scored in the series. In addition to scoring, Bradley Beal (26), Kevin Durant (24), and Jusuf Nurkic (who made his comeback from injury) each pulled down 19 rebounds and disheveled out 10 assists.

Phoenix’s season record now stands at 47-33. Now that they have secured the sixth seed in the Western Conference, the Suns will need New Orleans to drop one of their last three games in order to maintain their position.

The Suns entered the second quarter leading 28–27, having fallen behind 10–2. Phoenix opened the scoring with 20 three-pointers, and Booker set the tone with 16 points.

The Suns needed this victory to avoid their first three-game losing skid since December, and Phoenix finally took control of the game with around two minutes left in the fourth quarter after exchanging baskets back and forth. Phoenix went on a 23-2 scoring run to end the game.

The Suns will play the Sacramento Kings on Friday when they return to action.
