LeBron James spent Father’s Day, basking in the glory of an NBA championship, by revealing to the world the one person who can deflect attention away from the game’s most prominent player.
At the press conference after the game, James was beaming broadly while holding his one-year-old daughter Zhuri, who was the life of the party.
Riley Curry, the daughter of Warriors star Steph Curry, was last year’s show stealer, but Zhuri still won everyone over with her lively demeanor.
The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Golden State Warriors to win their first NBA title, so there was much for the James family to celebrate.
They also made NBA history by becoming the first team to win the championship after trailing 3-1.James, who won the MVP award for the playoffs, was accompanied to the postgame news conference by his boys, LeBron Jr., 12, and Bryce, 9.
The gorgeous Zhuri remained transfixed, gazing at the gold Larry O’Brien Trophy, which is given to the NBA champion of the previous year.
James, 31, is proud of the three children he has raised with wife Savannah. James was raised in Akron, Ohio, without a father. Before Sunday night’s Game 7, James said to Cleveland.com, “I wanted to be a part of the statistics that breaks the mode of fathers running out on their kids.”
“I definitely went through that, and I realized right away that wasn’t going to be me. Therefore, it’s crucial to have a family and to support them on a daily basis.”James emulated Curry by bringing his adorable daughter to the stage after his championship victory.
Riley Curry’s hilarious antics at the podium during the playoffs last year stole the show as her dad’s Warriors went on to win the NBA championship.
