During an appearance on CBS Mornings to promote his second children’s book, I Am Extraordinary, which encourages children to embrace their uniqueness, Curry was asked by CBS News national correspondent Jericka Duncan if he would ever consider a career in politics, specifically running for president, after his playing days were over.
“Maybe, I have an interest in leveraging every part of my influence for good in the way that I can,” Curry went on to say. “So, if that’s the way to do it, then – I’m not going to say the presidency but if politics is a way that you can create meaningful change or if there’s another way outside of politics.”
Kerr, who has experienced numerous roster subplots while leading the Warriors throughout the years, realizes that behavior like Looney’s exemplifies what the game is about.
It is also what distinguishes a losing squad from a winning one.
“It’s really what it’s all about when you see the players cheering for each other and looking after each other,” he said.
“It’s one of my favorite things about this bunch. I watch them continually doing this, supporting one another. That is critical if you want to build a winning squad.”
That happened during the NBA All-Star Weekend, when Smith sat courtside for the Stephen Curry-Sabrina Ionescu 3-point battle, which was a dramatic demonstration of the WNBA-NBA partnership.
“You can’t ask for a better example to educate people as to how we want this to feel,” Smith went on to say. “They are both powerful. Both are stars in their own right. However, there is an alliance and respect. That is how I want our fans to feel.
“We’re in position to harness the power of the Warriors, but also build something uniquely our own.”
The Clippers stated that Leonard was experiencing thoracic spasms. According to one story, Leonard went home to rest rather than sitting in misery at the arena.
Coach Tyronn Lue stated that Leonard had been dealing with the ailment for a few days and that the team was unsure whether their franchise player would be able to play against Minnesota. After Leonard left, the Clippers blew a 22-point lead and fell 118-100 against the Wolves.
“We weren’t sure if he was going to go this morning,” Lue said after the game. “But he came to shootaround, had some treatment, did what he needed to do, and attempted to return to the floor and play today. It just wouldn’t loosen up for him.”
