The Outback Steakhouse in Akron, Ohio, where LeBron James and his wife Savannah had their first date, was a very special location in their love journey. They are mourning its loss.
Savannah, 37, announced the chain’s Akron location’s closure on Thursday night via an Instagram story. “Nooooo,” she said, adding, “Our first date memories,” and an emoticon with tears in her eyes. She also tagged LeBron, 39.
LeBron wrote, “OMG!!!!” after reposting Savannah’s tale on his own. Why why why, he exclaimed, packing his goodbyes to their first date spot with a handful of teary-eyed emojis.
The NBA player and his spouse are native of Akron and continue to be active members of the community where James’ illustrious career got its start.
According to News 5 Cleveland, LeBron’s I Promise School recently expanded its campus to provide more educational options and affordable housing complexes for its students and their families.
After being hitched in 2013, LeBron “Bronny” James Jr., Bryce Maximus, and Zhuri Nova are the couple’s three children.
2018 saw Savannah tell Cleveland Magazine that she met her future husband as a sophomore in high school at the age of sixteen. LeBron, who went to a rival school, was a year older than Savannah.
Recalling that he’d asked a buddy for her number, Savannah chose to give him hers instead. “I was probably bored or anything one day when I was just hanging around when I realized, ‘Oh, I forgot! I can give this guy a call at this number. “Let’s see, he seems interested,” she remarked.
After LeBron extended an invitation to her to attend one of his basketball games, the two went to Applebee’s along with their pals.
A couple of weeks later they went on their first date alone, to Outback Steakhouse.
In 2010, Savannah told Harper’s Bazaar that she knew it was love at first sight, saying, “I knew he loved me when I left my leftovers from dinner in his car.” He brought them to me, even though I had completely forgotten about them. I believe he was merely looking for an additional reason to visit me.”
LeBron made care to praise his “beautiful and amazing” wife when he accepted the trophy for best record-breaking performance in July, the month he became the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.
James remarked, “If any of you know her—I know there are a few people here who know her—you know she doesn’t ever do s— like this, ever.” “Plus, I adore that you all get to witness the queen I live with on a daily basis. Bravo to you, darling.”
“No one has sacrificed more and worked harder to support this family than you have, and I appreciate that. Love you,” he continued.
