Ja Morant mania returns, LeBron reacts as Memphis superstar beats Pelicans in comeback game

Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant returned from his 25-game suspension on Tuesday night, and he immediately made NBA history. With his 27th point of the game, Morant broke the record for the most points by a player after missing at least 25 games.

Making this history would have been impressive enough, but Morant also hit an incredible game winner, which LeBron James reacted to on X (formerly known as Twitter):

With all of the excitement around his comeback, Jared Morant, a standout player for the Grizzlies, performed well. Although it would have made sense for him to be rusty, Morant was outstanding throughout this game, particularly in the second half.

One of the most thrilling games of the season occurred when the Grizzlies mounted a huge comeback after falling behind early in the first half. While being guarded by a very talented defender in Herb Jones, Morant came through with a game-winning layup to cap off his outstanding performance.

In this return game, Morant—who is among the NBA’s most electrifying players—explained why. This kind of play is exactly why the Grizzlies star has been much missed by the NBA community. In addition to posting a strong line, Morant went on a tear in the closing minutes and scored the game-winning basket.
