When LeBron James made history in Los Angeles on Tuesday night, he had the backing of several well-known pals.
Attendees included JAY-Z, Denzel Washington, Woody Harrelson, Floyd Mayweather, Usher, Bad Bunny, Dwyane Wade, LL Cool J, and others watched the 38-year-old NBA legend shatter the record for most points scored, which was previously held by retired Los Angeles Laker Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.Now seventy-five, Abdul-Jabbar established the record that seemed unbreakable in 1984. After scoring 20 points in the first half and setting a record with his 38,388th point in the NBA, James needed 36 points to pass Abdul-Jabbar going into the third quarter.Abdul-Jabbar himself went out to the court to congratulate James as the game stopped to honor the moment of celebration. The NBA later tweeted, “What a moment,” with pictures of the two icons exchanging basketball batons and exchanging handshakes.NBA Commissioner Adam Silver declared, “LeBron, you are the NBA’s all-time scoring leader,” during the mini-ceremony. “Congratulations.”
“F—, man!”
JAY-Z was comfortably sipping a glass of red wine while wearing black sweatpants courtside next to Corey Gamble during the game, as the NBA demonstrated in a video footage posted on Twitter.Jay-Z was photographed sitting during stressful parts of the game, looking completely absorbed. He later got up to congratulate James on reaching a significant milestone.
Rich Paul, the NBA manager and Adele’s lover, once approached the iconic rapper and gave her a hug. (His spouse Adele won a Grammy for song of the year, while Beyoncé recently broke her own record on Sunday for the most Grammys ever won.)
