The Lakers lost to the Sacramento Kings 120–107 in a game they needed to win to get into the playoffs or play-ins. They started slowly and didn’t end well.
For LA, this is the worst LeBron James has looked in a long time. He stuffed the stat sheet, but in the end he only scored 18 points on 6-16 shooting and was much less оffensive than usual, even though Harrison Barnes was a good draw for him.
Anthony Davis wasn’t much better. He scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, but Domantas Sabonis played much better and had his 23rd triple-double of the season, with 19 rebounds being the highlight.
Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura scored a total of 48 points, but D’Angelo Russell had a bad night and all three of Los Angeles’s good point-of-аttаck players got hurt, which let Sacramento do their thing on offense. They shot 46% from 3-point range and easily won.
The Lakers need to win every game right now. Their first one is on Saturday night at home against the Warriors. Here are some of their best plays tonight:
That’s pretty much it, though, because LA had trouble on both ends of the court. Anthony Davis is now 0-10 all-time against Domantas Sabonis. He probably won’t be able to break that run until at least next season.
