The Lakers were led by D’Angelo Russell, who scored 27 points and was responsible for 10 assists, and Anthony Davis, who scored 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. LeBron James was a spectator from the bench.

James suffers from pain in his left ankle on a daily basis. Due to a right calf strain, the Clippers were unable to use their big man Ivica Zubac, who is expected to be sidelined for at least a month.

At 22-23, the Lakers are already below.500 after suffering their fourth consecutive loss away from home. Only once, early in the game, did they hold the lead by a single point.

At this point, the Clippers have won 11 of 13 games and three in a row.

During the early stages of the fourth quarter, the Lakers came within two points on two separate occasions. Leonard assisted Norman Powell in making a corner three-pointer, and Leonard assisted George in making a layup by passing the ball to him. The Clippers’ lead was increased to 119-108 because Powell scored once more and Leonard sank two free throws to close up a 9-0 outburst that expanded their lead. In the end, Powell finished with 17 markers.

Cam Reddish, a forward with the Los Angeles Lakers, went down at the midpoint of the court in the fourth quarter and was unable to put any weight on his right leg. He limped off the court.

In the third quarter, the Lakers alternated between attacking the basket and making three-point shots. Six of their first seven points were scored by Russell. Together with Austin Reaves, he made consecutive three-pointers that brought the Lakers’ deficit down to 92-88.

Russell Westbrook made three-pointers in between a goaltending call on Rui Hachimura, and then Amir Coffey made a three-pointer to send the Clippers into the fourth quarter with a 106-97 point advantage. The final score for Westbrook was sixteen points.

The Clippers had a first-half shooting percentage of 66% and a 15-9 run to break away from the competition and take a 77-64 lead into halftime. All seven of Leonard’s field goals were successful throughout the half, which was a period in which both teams scored on practically every trip down the floor.

When Westbrook made a three-point shot in the first quarter, he was without his right shoe due to what happened.
